The Beginning

So like most fantastical stories there is a bit of origin that has to be set up. I've decided that I'm going to use this blog as a way of developing certain aspects of the universe for my story. It is important to know that the story takes place on Earth, and will be set in modern time.

At one time in our ancient past, humans shared this planet with other humanoid creatures. These creatures consisted of beings as diverse as wolfmen, vampires, gargoyles and pedmilites (beings that look like human children at adult age). Every few thousands of years the spirits of the earth cast their powers into a human in an attempt to hurtle the populace into a new age of wisdom and change. For thousands of years, all of the races on this earth lived together. Most races kept to themselves, wars would occasionally break out, but every race had a basic level of even footing on this planet.

This all changed when during the middle ages. The wizard know today as Merlin was not actually a wizard, but a human being who had the ability to astral travel. Through the use of astral travel, you are able to experience many amazing things. You have at your fingers the talent to walk the world as a ghost and journey into others dreams, even journey into the realms of spirits. He eventually became so skilled at this talent that he discovered the keys to secret abilities that only astral travelers could ever learn. He used these abilities not for the good of others however, but for his own success.

Thus began his quest to discover the star child. You see, every few hundred years there is a child that is born with a unique gift given to him by the spirits of the earth. Some of these children live their whole lives without ever realizing that within them they have a power that could change the world. There needs to be some form of awakening in order for this star child to realize their hidden gifts.
